Swallow Your Head
I really hate when people boast that they don't watch television or, worse, do not own one.
If you do this...please...stop. Nobody cares.

The socially conscious blog. This blog comes with the caveat on all posts: I may be wrong (Burden of proof falls upon the reader). "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." --------Teddy Roosevelt

There actually was a time when I didn't have a tv. Couldn't afford one. That was back when rugrat 1 (now 28) was a toddler. People didn't believe it then when I said we didn't have one.
Then when we did get a tv, we didn't have cable. People didn't believe that either.
Now we have tv's in three rooms, and cable as well. But not HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc. My students were shocked the other day to find out I had never watched Sex in the City or the Sopranos cause I didn't have HBO.
Still, though, the tv is on almost 24/7 in our house. It's 'company' when either rugrat 2 or I are alone. It's almost pathetic how much tv we watch, and how non-quality so much of it is. No telling what's getting into our subconscious with the tv always running in the background. :D
I bet they're just pulling a Grandpa from Lost Boys. You know, reading TV Guide in lieu of actual ownership of a set.
Except Grandpa wasn't really the boastful type.
I download much of the TV I watch from the series of tubes.
If you want some vibrant color and characters watch the entertaiing Pushing Daisies on ABC. Jim Dale who reads the Harry Potter audiobooks is the narrator, and it's all pure fantasy.
