NEWS FLASH

5:01 am today I'm drinking coffee and watching the Nobel Peace Prize announcement.

Al Gore wins it.

Congrats, Mr. Gore.

5:03 am: nutty right-wingers everywhere start gnashing their teeth and foaming at the mouth.

Predictability Meter: spot on.

From one of the (thankfully dwindling) number of right-wingers on alt:

"Now that former Vice President Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize, I am SURE that the world went MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It's not as venomous as I expected...then again...the comment replies are not all in yet. However, it is as overly punctuated as expected.

Yea even k had some residual angst over this. She is still officially a republican.. but only because of "fiscal responsibility."

Whatever that means today!

"Did he do all the work himself?" she asked. "Does he really deserve this?"

~sighs

OH and by the way.. what happened to that gattica person on alt? The anne coulter wannabe??

That Coulter wannabe is still on there churning out angry anti-democrat, anti-muslim tirades...but her blog dropped from prominant view. I think once people started figuring out that she wasn't interested in any sort of dialog (only sycophantic agreement)...and responded to any and all divergent opinions with attacks (including the pack mentality of her regular commenters)...that it was better not to engage her at all.

At least...that's why I, and a few others, stopped going.

Yep, spring, that's the one.

It's not uncommon for her to post bizarre articles by fringe, right-wing extremists to back up some point she's trying to make. Either that or her husband steps in to blog in her stead when she gets in over her head.

One of the funniest things I ever read in the blogs....she was on one of her 8,000 anti-muslim tirades, in a real lather...something about having all muslims in the US being forced to carry special ID cards. Max Faust popped in and suggested the easiest thing would be to "have them all wear little yellow stars on their clothing."

And, of course, she missed the intent.
